Shahdara Picnic Point

A Place You Must Visit In This Summer:

This summer me and my friends want to go somewhere. We make some plans to go to Northern areas because these areas are cold and there are lots of mountains, rivers, and waterfalls where we spend some time for relaxation. But our plan was failed when some of our friends tell us that their parents can't allow to go too far from home, so we search those places which are in Islamabad and we find different places like Shahdara valley, Neela Sandh, Nilan Bhotu, and Rawal Lack. We decide to visit Shahdara valley in Islamabad.

It is full of family-oriented water stream spot, located about 8 km from Barakhao and 16 km from Islamabad. Actually, it's an outstanding cold-water stream and situated in the foothills of Margalla Hills.

At Shahdara valley, there is near to have an awesome picnic point in Islamabad, which is always the center of attraction and very busy among the tourists, especially at weekends. Around this valley, there is lots of greenery, Freshwater stream, mountains, and rock climbing points that's why people love to visit this place.

It is a beautiful place where you find peace, so I recommend everyone to visit this place once in summer and see the real natural beauty of Islamabad.

Said Pur "The Oldest Village"

It was a sunny day, very pleasant and perfect for some adventure. The clouds were looking so beautiful and the empty road filled with green belts and blooming trees and flowers melted our heart straight away. After all there is a reason Islamabad is one of most beautiful capital in the world.

At start of Said Pur village there was a old fashioned well telling us about our culture and old method of extraction of water from earth. This huge ball was rotated by people when they had to extract water for domestic  purposes and by cows and bulls for purpose of agriculture. There was also a “mandi” where there were cows and sheeps  present. Staying in middle of animals and these old equipments gave me a pretty accurate idea about village life and its aspect which as one of unique experience.

We also saw  a Sikh Gurdwara in Said Pur as well as the prayer place of Hindus. It showed to us that what Quaid said in 1947 about right of minorities was not just a fancy catch phrase.  Non-Muslims have as much independence and freedom to practice their religion and beliefs here as much as Muslims are.  The Sikh Gurdwara had names written on stairs. They were people who made this Gurdwara. The fact that there are 2 religious representation of Sikh  and Hinduism in a Muslim country is a symbolic gesture that we don’t hate anyone on basis of their cast, religion or any physical attribute.  These are also teaching of Holy Prophet (PBUH).

There was also one rare picture in Dharmshala  which showed Mr Doxiadis  explaining the master plan for Islamabad to CDA officials as well as a picture of president of Pakistan reviewing that master plan of capital. The view of Margallah hills, the closely bounded streets, the free roaming animals and other factors gave us a unique feeling that people in villages are used to but we rarely encounter. After the lunch we visited every corner of village tring to soak this wonderful experience inside us as much as possible and went home with a plan to return to rejoice this wonderful experience very soon.

The Oldest Market In Islamabad.

Aabpara Market Islamabad:

Hello, guys today my blog is on the oldest market in Islamabad and I am going to tell you that it is the Aabpara market which was built in 1960. Its previous name was Bagh Bhattan. It was driven from the name of a girl. Aabpara was a girl. Some say she was the first girl born in the area while some narrate that she was a Bengali girl who lived there. But it was her name that was given to the place.

It is a commercial zone located at the southwest of sector G-6, Islamabad near Kashmir highway.

It is a very famous market of Islamabad where everything is available. There are a variety of local restaurants available here, where you can eat delicious Pakistani foods at cheap prices. There are many dry fruit stores, antique toy shops, mechanical and electrical repair shops, clothes, Hardware Shops and a wealth of so much more with everything at a very reasonable and affordable price. It is a market for those who cannot afford Jinnah Super.

Faisal Mosque Islamabad

The impetus for the mosque started in 1966 when King Faisal bin Abdul-Aziz showed his support towards the initiative of the Pakistani Government to build a national mosque in Islamabad during an official visit to Pakistan. An international competition in 1969  was held in which 43 proposals we're submitted by 17  architectures and winning design was that of architect Vedat Dalokay. Construction of the mosque began in 1976 by National Construction of Pakistan and was led by Azim Khan and funded by the government of Saudi Arabia, at a cost of over 130 million Saudi riyals (approximately 120 million USD  today). King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz was instrumental in the funding, and both the mosque and the road leading to it were named after him after his assassination in 1975. The mosque was completed in 1986, and used to house the International Islamic University. Many conservative Muslims criticised the design at first for its unconventional design and lack of a traditional dome structure, but most criticism ended when the completed mosque's scale, form, and setting against the Margalla Hills became evident.

It was an overcast day, with a slight drizzle. The clouds were hanging low, hiding the top of Margalla hills. As I drove towards E-8 sector, the mosque appeared at the horizon and kept growing bigger till we were in the vast parking lot.
I was taken aback by its unique architecture that is shaped like a Bedouin tent. Its Turkish architect, Vedat Dalokay, thought it would capture the eye of the judges in 1979, a time when Pakistan was going the Arab way and it did work.

I then went into the courtyard and was amazed at the lavish spending on pure white marble tiles, electric fittings, water fountains, gold plated metal objects, carpets, chandeliers’ and lighting. I was told there was a madrassa in the mosque as well.

The inner sanctum of the mosque was unlike anything I had seen in Pakistan. 40 m high roof, tapered on top, balconies on the side, column-less main hall and tall windows.
However, It showed me something I didn't want to believe at first, But reality is far from what I believe
How could such a beautiful mosque, worth millions to make and much more to maintain lay host to beggers, the sick and the homeless. It was there when I realized. Religion and faith are not signified by mosques and gold plated Qurans. They are signified by our actions, our morals and us.Where was God when his house was being made while his people perished right underneath it?

Jabri Village Islamabad

Jabri Village is near Pir Suhawa about 28 km away from Monal. The region is hilly and mountainous and presents a landscape rich in water resources, natural beauty and woods.
Me and my family decided to visit this place just out of curiosity because we have heard so much about it that this place is full of scenic beauty. Also we were fed up of some general places that we use to visit more often. Sometimes it seems like Islamabad is such a mini area to be visited by tourists because there are same sites one can visit anytime he/she plans to take a break.
But this village is I thought a different rather I should say not so casual place to visit. and not many people know about it.
Route was very simple. we took road from F6 zoo and did not leave that road. That road leads straight to Jabri Village Via Damn-e-Koh. One can also visit this place through local transport through Fiazabad. People also use this road to visit Hurripur. Road is bouncy and one needs to drive carefully. We somehow managed to reach that place by 2 o clock in afternoon. It was hot but humid.
This was the place we wanted to visit and after seeing this view we were so relaxed and happy. we sat there and had our lunch. we were like ,"such a heavenly place also exists near Islamabad". Beautiful roads and that aroma,we never wanted to leave that place.  But the thing is that life in mountains is not easy for people like us who are habitual of eating fast food ,and enjoying super dooper fast internet and what not. But we had to come back anyway . I would definitely recommend this village tour to trips because view is so breath taking.

Trail 6 Islamabad

Have you ever had the experienced when life becomes so boring, regular and same?If you ask me, the answer would definitely be a big and huge Yes..! Same routine everyday with no relaxation and chill time.I was experiencing the same,so I thought that I should go and say a nice and very very warm hello to nature to throw away all my burdens and life's chaos.I asked my friends to go on a hike. Hiking to me is a healthy activity, because one feels very close to nature. There is greenery everywhere, and you're eyes feel so fresh. Butterflies hover here and there and one feels like a Tinkerbell of Pixie Hollow.
So, we decided to go for hiking and place choosen to hike was Trial 6 Islamabad.
Sudden plans always work for me. We packed our bags bought some watter bottles and with sticks we were like, "hello mountains here we come".

I was so excited and was longing to see so many colors of nature as I walk. When I started walking I saw, rather I felt that trees, plants and vines are merging together and welcoming us. It was so refreshing that I couldn't stop my self from taking a snap so that I can live this moment whenever I want.
We started hiking and that was the tough part but with friends you get to go through such paths very easily. Along my way I was thinking and reciting SubhanAllah as to what a beauty this world is.Winds were blowing our hearts that were going viral on that scenic beauty. It was so mesmerizing. My aim was to see Islamabad from a mountain to see the hustle bustle which I was not a prisoner off at this point of time. And then finally the time came and I viewed Islamabad what a moment it was. Islamabad in clouds and greenery with its tall buildings. It was amazing just amazing .

I was a little tired because hiking was something that I don't do more often. I drank all my water without showing an ounce of "insaniyat". And it was becoming very difficult to hike because it felt that we were climbing the never ending hills. I was now longing for Monal to show itself early as possible. Then I realized that this is the lesson learned  I am walking even when I am feeling I can't take any step further. That means we people don't realize our actual potential and I was happy that I have that. we were singing and sharing jokes as we walked through that wonderland and with the next turn i saw ..
This was awesome. It was the best ever place I have seen while hiking. Water so fresh and transparent showing so much purity communicating so much peace. We wanted peace. And this was the spot. Far far away from the chaos and that fatigue. This was the wonderland. I never wanted to leave that place so my friends dragged me and we started again. I was losing all my potential and all gathered back with a shout by my friend, hey look I can see Monal. I was cheered up. I rushed to climb and see the glimpse of that view to get motivation. And we were finally close to Monal. We were so happy as if we have conquered everything.
There we were.. we were so happy. So so much. Life is short we should live it for our own self someday atleast. All that sadness was gone and I was ready to welcome and hug life warmly and say hello to a new day.
We were tired and there was no time left for dinner. We booked careem and rushed back. Dinner ..mm .. may be next time :p because one should never say no to adventures. It was a day worth remembering.
